This video basically sums it up:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epkw-OLxKYw&feature=channel_video_title

Please watch this. It is an animation to a recording of a phone conversation with a Fifth Third Bank representative named "Chris". The story is in the video. You may have to pause a few sections to read the story, but other than that, it's self explanatory.

Basically, they have called me multiple times per day because they withdrew their own fees, putting my balance at -$22.00. I have received multiple phone calls per day since mid June 2011. I called them three times to tell them to take me off of their call list, that I know my account standings, and that I plan on closing my account as soon as I can afford it. I'm a broke college student, it costs money to close the account since they charge if you haven't had the account for six months. I have one month left and it will be cheaper to wait to get another fee for one month than to pay to close the account early. I have reported them to the FCC daily because their call volume has increased significantly since I told them not to call and that I'm closing my account. They said they couldn't stop the calls because it was an 'automated system'. The last time I called, I spoke with a guy named Chris, this is the subject of my video. He pretended he couldn't hear me then he hung up on me. See for yourself.

Monetary Loss: $60.

Location: Orlando, Florida

They have the gall to call my parents home to try to collect; shouldn't that be illegal?

@cReed - I am not that young. My voice is childlike and non-aggressive.

@the *** that's happy with 5th 3rd bank:

I have a job and I do pay my bills. I do NOT deal with EXTREMELY rude customer service representatives, companies that nag and harass me before I even know that a bill is due, and people who break laws.

This company is extremely criminal in everything they do. I know many people who are very UNhappy with this bank. Now I know why. I will never pay this petty bill.

If you had any sense, you would know that cross-talking individuals via the internet or by any other means is completely immature and accomplishes nothing.

It is completely unproductive and unprofessional (just like 5th 3rd), I shouldn't expect anything less from someone who fully supports a bank that was bailed out with our tax dollars and charges $36 dollar overdraft fees, has a class-action lawsuit against them at the moment for cheating their customers into getting overdraft fees by depositing small deposits before large deposits and withdrawing large purchases before smaller purchases... Both my boyfriend and I attend the best engineering and aeronautical university in the world and we both agree that this is probably the worst bank in history.

i work hard every day and if cant pay my bills i try to find the way to do it i dont wait for the calls to come so i recomend you to do the same quit crying and pay your bills grow up and get off the computer and find a job or a way to pay your bills but the funny thing is that you have money to have internet but dont have money to pay bills?

Don't do business with them. You will be very sorry.

No the calls will not stop. If they do get you they will ask for your SS# work phone and address before they allow you to pay. This is so the person calling can then call you at work. They know how much pressure that will put on you to pay.

Sunday morning calls for collection shows this company is ruthless and aggressive in collection work. Nothing else I can say but choose another bank to deal with.

Good try... unfortunately you sound "young",,,try to use a more assertive tone.

It may help. Good luck

"Oh my" Checksystems... Lmfao.

I'll keep that in mind... :x

And "call center"... it's not an actual PERSON calling me. It's a ROBOT!

It's harassment.

I don't think I should have to pay anything if they harass me. I am definitely considering filing harassment charges against them.

I work in another call center and one time we had an issue where the line would go static and completely cut off ALL calls (even the ones in ***). Happened a couple times, but only lasted a day.

Make sure you pay them off or you will be on Checksystems and not be able to open an account anywhere.
