Online Banking Deposit rules

I have a business and personal checking account, I wrote a 1500 dollar check from business to personal. Since not linked, goes they mail....5 days. Receive check and try to deposit via online banking mobile. Says 1500 dollars is too big to deposit. Support says they can’t help. Never seen such incompetence in my life, need to go back to 1 dollar stock.

53 recently closed my account gave no reason just sent a letter saying my account was closed. Fine but at the same time my disability check was deposited into this account. That was in October it’s now almost January and I still haven’t received my money. They keep telling me a check was sent out. I have not received this check on top of that why would a check from a bank take 15 days to be received. Well it’s been three months and all they tell me is it was mailed. Well reissue the check but it will take three days for the stop payment and three days for the reissue and 15 more days before you receive it. Discussed

Worst bank ever

Horrible bank. Rude and flippant customer service reps, incompetent with all aspects of banking. They have screwed up my online bill pay multiple times with emails telling me I need to schedule a bill to be paid when it's already scheduled... Then it will be paid anyway, or just the opposite; I'll schedule a bill to be paid then it won't get paid, telling me it was never scheduled, when it was. The latest debacle came when (in the process of closing my account with them) I had a scheduled transfer to my new bank. I then noticed online that it was cancelled (no reason given). I called customer no service and she guaranteed me that yes, the transfer was definitely cancelled. I told her she needs to be 100% certain because I will then schedule it to be transferred from my new bank's site and I don't want it coming out twice. "Oh no, it has definitely been cancelled." You would think I would have learned by now, not to trust anything they say, because sure enough, two days later, the cancelled transfer went through. By the time they alerted me to it (through email) it was too late for me to stop the transfer from my new bank's site. Now, of course, the money has come out twice, leaving me with a negative balance and overdraft fees. After calling 3 different reps who said they would take care of it, nothing happened. I have since had to go to one of their brick and mortar banks and have a manager take care of this for me. I'll see what happens. I have now transferred back the money to Fifth Third and if the fees do not come off, I will take them to small claims court. I have a credit card with them and a mortgage, and I've been with them for 6 years. No more. Checking will be closed as soon as this problem that they caused is fixed. Then I will close the credit card, then I will refinance with another institution. I'm done.

Constantly ignored by bankers

They issued me a new credit card but it got lost in the mail, so I went into the branch to ask for another one. From there, it took three days, four phone calls, and two separate trips into the branch to ask for a new card. My phone calls were ignored, and the voice messages that I left were unreturned. After three days, they finally ordered the card for me. I had a verbal agreement with the banker that they would waive the $30 fee for the new card but then they charged me anyway. I had to call the branch again and they gave me the runaround again. I spoke to the branch manager: he was well aware of the entire situation and didn't seem like he cared.

Unprofessional Teller discriminatory actions

S. Bradford a Teller with malice and malicious intent berated and belittled me and accused me of fraud. She refused to allow me access to my checking ACCOUNT. The first teller I spoke to was preparing a cashier check for me with no issue. But this next teller S. Bradford had person intent on preventing me from access to my funds for personal reasons. This bank has issues with minorities and was sued in 2015 and lost for illegal activities related to Latino and African American bank clients. No one called me or advised from the bank that there was any issue with my account. On 10/31/2017 I spoke to the bank manager regarding my account and he had no issue with me or my accounts. Then when I encountered this teller, S. Bradford, she looked at me and was determined to harm my by calling the corporate fraud department and filing a report without my consent or permission. From the time I arrived at 5:59 pm to 6:45pm the teller Shani Bradford left me in an office an took 3 or more personal phone calls on her personal cell phone. She came back into the office and said “ You are not going to get any money from me tonight. “ I do not feel comfortable give you any money…” S.Bradford requested onerous documentation from me that was not necessary and refused to allow me to speak to a manager. S.Bradford was determined to embarrass me and deny me access to my checking account, she was rude and unprofessional towards me. She spoke in a tone that was denigrating and she besmeared my reputation with the bank. She asserted that I was a liar, and lying about my identity – although I have used this branch multiple times without incident. She determined that I was not going to have access to my funds and she repeatedly refused to explain why she refused to give me my funds in my personal checking account. S.Bradford for malicious reasons then proceeded to close or cancel out my accounts that had been open since 2012 without my permission or consent. I have paid off my loans, my accounts have never been overdrawn and I paid off my credit cards. Still this teller felt that I had to prove to HER prove to her where I make my living. At 658pm S. Bradford made contact with the Consume Fraud office minutes before they closed and added fraud hold to my credit card without my consent. This Representative of Fifth Third acted with malice intent towards me (a minority) purposefully placed a fraud hold knowing the Fraud department would be closed and I would have no way to know why my account was frozen. This teller placed this hold without my express written consent. This teller added a fraud hold to my checking account based on her own malicious intent without my consent and for no reason as there was no fraudulent activity This teller as a representative of Fifth Third Bank, used her job to purposefully and with malice restrict me from my own person funds.

Two and a half weeks ago my credit card was comprised and I noted fraudulent charges on the account. I called the same day and reported the fraudulent activity and was told a new card would be shipped and arrive in 4-5 business days and that card would be deactivated....

I've had similar experiences with Fifth Third. This is my 3rd compromised card in a year.

I do not use my card at non-reputable sites or stores and yet I keep getting these odd charges. I have a Discover card I use just as frequently and have only needed to replace it after it physically wears down or expires. I actually worked in the credit authentication industry so I highly doubt one of my passwords were compromised as they are computer generated random characters. Fifth Third let a $50 iTunes charge go through and then blocked a $15 iTunes charge.

I don't even have an iPhone or an iTunes account so someone obtained my actual card information somehow. My last card replacement they claimed was lost in the mail and I had to go a couple weeks without one.

I'm currently waiting for another card now...fingers crossed! I will be looking for banking solutions elsewhere.

$200 offer to open account - still no $200

Opened account on 10/14/17 in person at the branch, watched the rep put in the offer code, advised it should be 10 days approximately for the offer to hit my account. Contacted rep after four days to follow-up, he said somehow the offer code did not make it into my "profile." Gave him the code again and he supposedly entered it then. Said it was not a delay tactic, said it was a "mistake" and "technology is only great when it works." Continued to follow-up and still do not have $200 offer to open in my account. A month now and any day now no doubt they will charge my account $11 the monthly service fee is supposed to go down to $8 per month once direct deposit of my paycheck begins. By the look of things so far, the bank will try to charge me a service fee although they have done absolutely nothing for me except put me through the "delay game," which comes as no surprise, especially after reading the many other reviews here at pissed.consumer. I hesitate to set up any "bill pay" payees with them for fear they will screw up my payments to my creditors/utilities/phone, etc. My first direct deposit goes in this week but probably not before the service fee hits. If that puts my account into the red for a day and they try to tack on an overdraft charge in addition to the fee when all they have to do is put in the $200 they've owed me now for a month, I will use my right to protest on every platform, including outside their physical address, until someone at 5/3 "bank" does something about it. I've read too much here and elsewhere and I'm personally experiencing their poor customer service and outright false advertising to entice people to open accounts with them.

Unauthorized cancellation of card and funds.

Suspicious activity found on my acct. I called to take necessary precautions to secure acct and the guy mentions getting a new card but I mentioned I don't live in Midwest anymore so changing my send address would mean 14+ days for a new one. I say that's ok, cause I have new funds coming in. I at least wanted to take old funds off card to survive until I find out my card is declined. Now I have no way of eating or traveling because of fifth third's idiotic policy of canceling a card before doing due diligence of making sure the customer is secure and sure before cancelling. Bottom line, *** fifth Third. Never heard so many bs apologies in my life. Customer service reps are useless.

Incompetence flows throughout this bank

I'll start by saying I am a financially responsible individual. I make a decent living, am educated, and have a credit score in the mid 800's. My experience with this bank began at an auto dealership when I purchased a new vehicle. Strike #1: The bank repeatedly failed to send me my promised payment coupons, and all/any paperwork I needed to know where to send my payments. Strike #2. Each month when I call this bank to make a payment on my installement loan, I tell them my name is wrong on the account. it's some butched version of my actual name. They fail to fix it. Strike #3: Fifth Third called me today demanding payment on my auto installemnt. I told them I paid the installment on time and the person on the other end of the phone paused. They then preceeded to tell me it was rejected due to insufficient funds. FALSE. They insisted I had to contact my bank (likely assuming I didnt have any money and I was lying about the payment), until I had to ask what account # they used to try and process my payment. TURNS OUT THEY HAD SOMEONE ELSES ACCOUNT #. No surprise it bounced. I told them to look at my last 3 years of payments and see what account ALL of my payments came out of. No surprise it didnt match what they tried to run my installment loan with. On top of this they wanted to charge me a $30 late fee for their error. Trust me I didnt let this happen. Learn from me and avoid this bank. A simple google seach will tell you to do the same thing. I've learned my lesson and will Refi here shortly.

Fifth Third Bank $200 SCAM

They stiffed me too, and DOZENS of others who responded to their Face Book ads.. LIARS, cheats.. They tell you to call the 800 number who tells you to go to the bank who tells you that YOU entered the WRONG CODE. WHAT CODE, I filled out your *** application and did direct deposit and was going to pay 3 bills until I found out that you *** DOZENS, now I see it's HUNDREDS.. Time to complain to the banking commissioner. OH and before I forget. After calling the 800 number and being told I entered the wrong code, I got an email with a code, amazingly. So I went to the bank as instructed and being the persistent person that I am. The teller slipped up. She said that she, "gets them all the time, no use calling because they won't let her enter that code or change the account".. So there goes my $200, wasted time changing all of my online payments and now back to my credit union. OH, and there may be a $150 early closing penalty. ***..

I have a loan with you since 2011.

They decided that I needed to pay one more payment on my car that I have paid over 70 months on. Instead of being the regular payment it was more than the regular payment . I live paycheck to paycheck. They did not warn me of this payment sent out after the 10th of the month of September expected it to be there the 28th. I do not understand why this is not in the payment book. It seems rather stupid to me to expect more and give a late notice on top of it. STUPID *** THEY NEED TO FIND ANOTHER PROFESSION OTHER THAN BANKING. THEY MUST THINK MONEY GROWS ON TREES BUT IT DOES NOT . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR.

5th 3rd abuses elderly customers

I took my 87 year old mother who had dementia to the 5.3 branch to close her 25 year old checking and savings accounts. I am now fully managing her finances and have FPOA. Six weeks later I find her acts were not closed, as had been done in the branch, and is accruing overdraft charges for monthly fees on a closed account. After 3 hours on the phone I have no solution except to take a vacation day to redo the whole process. Horrible bank, horrible customer service, their mistake has become my big problem. Shame on 5.3!!!

Terrible experience with a home mortgage

Do not use this bank for a home mortgage. They are completely non responsive, and even when the do respond, nothing happens. What was supposed to be a simple 30 transaction has turned into 60 days and counting for NO APPARENT REASON. You call, leave a message, and no one returns your call. You send an email, and get no response. If a miracle should happen and you do reach someone, they don't know what's going on. They have everything they need to complete this loan Now the seller of the house is cancelling the escrow because Fifth Third Bank is so screwed up.
