Two weeks ago I received a call from 53 telling me about unusual activity in my account. They furnished my account number and asked for my SS number and password. I gave them the infomation. DUH. Immediately I went to the branch office and we closed my accounts and opened with new ones including passwords etc. Alarmed I bought ID theft protection.

Now I get 4 calls a day with the same message, There has been unusual activity please call us or check online. I found there has been no activity except closing the old accounts and opening new ones.

I have become convinced it is a deceptive marketing ploy to sell the ID theft package.

If it were not for the very pleasant and helpful branch manager these scumbags would have one less depositor.
