We just got back from Fifth Third Bank where my deceased mother had an account. They have been taking 11.00 out of it every month for about 1.5 years so far.

We brought in the death certificate in right away. They said they needed something from the courts, which we could not bring in until today. The man in the office said the account was overdrawn. OMG.

Well, then he said he could give us about 20 dollars and maybe *** a month or so of the 11.00 fee, so we will get back 40.00. But we first had to put money in the account so he could do so and he would give us a cashiers check if we come back tomorrow. The account had over 200.00 in it when she died. I told the guy I was going to write a review.

He just smiled. My aunt was POA but she needed to be a POD. Make sure all of you have a POD and as for Fifth Third Bank, this is the second horror story I have heard about the bank. I said I am glad I don't have a bank account here.

We left. Believe me, this is not about the money, it is about the principle. I think there should be a way to stop the bank account if you bring in a death certificate of the person on the account. Or at least the fees should stop.

Another way to take our money. This is an American Bank.

Please like and share this for me. Thank you!๏ปฟ

Very poor excuse for a bank, one of the worst. Be sure that you do not give them any money to cover the overdraft. Tell them to talk to the court to get their money.
