We were away from our FL home visiting family from 9/72019 through Christmas and the New Year. I checked my bank account online finding the payment to Fifth Third Bank had posted.Shortly after checking my account an unknown man knocked and explained he was an employee of an auto repo company sent by the bank to repo the car for past due payments. He had already hooked up the car and it would be towed to a compound lot.

I quickly called Fifth Third Bank and was told that if the car was already hooked up to the tow truck we were responsible for the $400 plus towing charge. To get the car returned, I had to agree to wire cash for the next month payment, repay the repo charge by adding1/3 of charge to next three car payments and have the three future payments auto debited from bank account.

It took three days to get the car back after paying to wire the cash. The car was repoed shortly before Christmas so the time of it happened added additional stress to us.

Reason of review: Repoed the van the same day the payment posted and were slow to respond to the issues. osted and same.

Monetary Loss: $1500.

Preferred solution: Refund money for the towing charge and for leaving me without a car for over 3 days right before Christmas. I was not contacted to correct any problem before repo...

Oh, come on...Banks aren't in the car selling business. Repo is their LAST option for people who are at least 3 payments past due or have a poor payment history.

Which one was you? Serial dead beats know you're not being truthful here. They didn't get you for a single payment. You were probably behind forever and a day, thinking you could make a single payment to stay out of trouble.

You messed up somewhere, probably used the money for Christmas and they couldn't with you anymore.

No one has to make an extra payment to keep the repo man away....Assuming their note is current in the first place. Summary......This is your fault....OK....Let's hear it, "you must work for them."
