Charged me over 1400.00 in late fees along with 1000s of dollars in corporate fees.. This bank is fraudulent and need to have a congressional investigation into there Thieft of funds and poor customer service...This bank does what they want and investigation itself with any complaints against them. The fox in charge of the chicken Coop has to stop imeaditly... I give them a *** for all the bs they try to feed you... stay far away from Fifth Third Bank!!! Very unprofessional...

Customer service has no idea how to handle simple topics

When I called customer service about the status of my mortgage, they were completely unable to help. They merely read the words on the statement, which I needed an explanation for.

I overpaid my mortgage in order to get ahead, and they don't know what to do with extra funds.

So when I called to tell them how to manage the funds, they said I needed to find a form on their website, which he could not even find for me and mail it in to set up the extra payment.

Then I asked for an explanation of my bill as there were some terms I didn't understand, he first merely read the words on the statement, and then said I needed to go into a branch to have the bill explained. Completely useless

Poor, Incompetent and rude Customer Service

Run as fast as you can from this Bank. They have the worst Service.

There website always down and says OOPS! and won't show CC transactions. Pending transactions Appear and disappear and your balance is incorrect. If you can understand your customer service agent, they talk in circles and give all kinds of excuses and never resolve the issue.

The agents on chat will close out the conversation if they don't like what you say. (Ask Sterling he is good at it). I'm guessing it's because they know there is no recourse. If you have a complaint about 5/3 they want you to call customer service to file the complaint.

But yet a lot of the complaints are about customer service.

How ironic...My experience with the Branch is not much better. Do yourself a favor and find another bank.

Resetting a password

In 2024, why am I being told to drive 2.5 hours to the closest branch to reset my password for an online account? How is that even suggested? This is only one of my hundred complaints. This only tops being told to drive another 2.5 hours back to the same branch once my mortgage got sold to them to resign paperwork because they neglected to notarize it correctly.

Ill have to wait and see if they get back to me? Fifth Third seems to take their customers for granted. At the local level theyre very good about taking care of your needs, but in many cases, at the corporate level, I think the left-hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing.

Mailed payment

I mailed my payoff payment in on 2/12 and was told by my bank that the check had not been cashed. After speaking with a 5th3rd Rep, I learned that my payment had not been posted because it has not been received. We verified the address and I will verify my tracking information. Only use 5th3rd Bank if you are willing to pay a wire transfer fee or be close enough to a physical 5th3rd Bank where you can go in and make your payments.

The process by which you handle the title returns after payment has been received is total BS. Once the check clears the title should be mailed immediately. I see now why your customer service rating is 1.1. Ill never do business with this bank again!!!

I need to withdraw some funds from an IRA account held by the brokerage side of the bank. I have the direct phone number for my broker.

His bloody voicemail is full and he cannot take any more messages. He no longer answers his phone. The number I was given at the branch for Adam, first name only, is only for employees. So that was a waste of time.

Finally, I tried calling what was listed as the number for the branch near me. It wasn't, it was for a national level number. 5th 3rd used to be a good bank. But in the last several years the back office of the bank, and in particular their IT group, have become pathetic.

And their regional woman who handles mortgages cannot figure out the simplest thing on a computer.

Do not use her either. First name of Janice I think.
